Pele
Pele. This is one of the most prominent goddesses in Hawaiian society. All the lava flows and land mass created on the island of Hawai'i is attributed to this goddess.
She is known for her temper, but also for her love. Most of the time this love is expressed through her longing for Lohi'au. Her temper and love can both be seen in her love/hate relationship with Kamapua'a; the pig god.
She is also looked at as an aumakua or family protector. Protecting those who respect her and live as a Hawaiian and destroying those who anger her and threaten her way of life.

Hiʻiaka
